Dear friends, family and community,

Fourth Day Ministries was blessed over a year ago with a 44 acre portion of the 170 acres that was previously the Girl Scout camp known as Camp Meridale. The name Meridale was derived from Meridian and Lauderdale as this was a camp for the local Girl Scouts of this area since 1938. A group of supporters of Fourth Day Ministries, Inc formed Camp Meridale LLC to purchase the remaining 126 acres, allowing us full access to the property and facilities. What a blessing...this will keep Camp Meridale intact, hopefully, in the near future this will be used for the entire community as a place to camp, fish, kayak, ride horses and enjoy the outdoors.

Camp Meridale was established in 1938 in the southeast portion of Lauderdale county near Merdian MS. The Girl Scout's closed the camp a few years ago, 44 acres of the property was donated to the Girl Scouts in 1938 by Mr. Joe Meyer. His descendants, the children and grandchildren of Ruth and Harold Meyer, have extended the generosity of Mr. Joe Meyer by donating the parcel of land to Fourth Day Ministries, Inc. We are very thankful for the 44 acres as it consists of the main lodge, dining hall, workshop, staff house, a lake and a primitive campsite with showers. Currently, we are using the newer lodge and primitive campsite for our camps. The other buildings are in need of repair and we need to replace the old tents in the primitive campsite area.

Camp Meridale LLC property is 126 acres and consists of:

Horse barn with 10 stalls, tack room and bathroom

Staff house remodel 2021 complete

Fishing Lake

Primitive campsites with shower houses

8 treehouses that require minor repairs and will sleep 32

Hiking trails

Riding trails, pastures and a riding arena

Partner up with us and together we will make this Community Outreach Program a success! We will renovate, expand, beautify and improve the property for immediate, continual and future use for the community!

To include but not limited to the following:

Renovating the barn and pastures in work

Building a Football/Soccer field for sporting camps delayed due to cost

Improve and expand the hiking and riding trails work in progress

Equine therapy and trail riding

Disk Golf wish list

The camp will be used for:

Church camps

Youth camps

Leadership camps

Sport camps

Office retreats

FCA camps

Events for veterans

Equine therapy

Camps for orphaned and special needs children

We would like to ask for your support to make this a possiblity by contributing financially and/or volunteering to help maintain and improve the property. We have plenty of work to do, as we appreciate any and all donations, a monthly recurring committment of any amount would be greatly appreciated. This will allow us to budget better for each project.
